Easter is a month away, which means it is time to break out the bunnies and scramble the eggs.
This is my first Easter offering. I say ‘first’ implying that there is a whole raft of projects lined up. That is not true. At the moment there is not even a ‘second’. I have though dug out all my seasonal supplies, and stared at them for a few hours. Not feeling it so far. Maybe inspiration will strike overnight. Does the Easter Bunny do house calls?
Sorry about the state of the little chicks. I bought them either last year or maybe even before then, but never released them from the box. I think one or two were rather hastily put together, with little regard for realism, or indeed basic chick anatomy. But, I can’t resist them, so they had to get an outing or two. In fact I picked out some of the most oddball individual ones. Perfect is not always the best!
Supplies: Lawn Fawn Hoppy Easter stamps and dies; MFT Die-namics Basic Stitch Lines; Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad; Embossalicious A4 folder Picnic Plaid; Adorable Scorable card (yellow); various alcohol markers; glitter card from stash.
Adorably wonderful!

I TOTALLY love it! I love bunnies 🙂 although I never eat the chocolate ones, I always feel guilty eating chocolate animals..wonder how vegetarians feel about it…and go to the Pound Shop-this year they have fuzzy lambs too which are adorable 🙂

Thanks, and thanks for the shopping tip-off. I’m afraid I do eat the chocolate bunnies. We used to have Lindt bunnies as a special treat as kids. They came from a posh shop – one of those ones with curtains, a bell, and glass cabinets. The bunnies were in beautifully decorated boxes and wrapped with wax paper. Proper luxury!

I remember those sort of shops 🙂 There was a wonderful one in Harrogate that made sugar mice…I couldn’t eat those either!

Nor me, but only because they were just sugar, not much else. Bleah!

Samantha, as a vegetarian, I have absolutely no compunction biting off the heads of rabbits — as long as they’re made of chocolate, of course! I do draw the line at fuzzy lamb chocolate, however. You have to spit out all those bits of fibre. Eww.
Cute card, Puff!

Oh yes, it is always good to make use of the supplies we have. Easter cards are not a usual thing for me, but I so need to use up stuff!!!

This is a gorgeous Easter card! I love these cute little bunnies and how you used tone on tone with the yellow embossed and non-embossed card.

Thanks Karen. Not gonna lie, I went through a lot of background and layer options before settling on ‘yellow, then’!

Great card and love the background embossing, and totally agree that the best chicks are the mis-fits (in more ways than one :))! You should be proud of yourself, haven’t even thought about Easter Bunny, so you are way ahead in my book!

Thanks! I only realised how close Easter was today, so an undignified scrabble for supplies ensued…

Adorable cards, Gillian. 🙂 The colours and the way you’ve arranged the bunnies is fantastic. I like the alternative chick-anatomy happening with the birdies, too. You’re right that perfect is not always best! 🙂 Hoppy Crafting!

I love the yellow on yellow. I think using the same colour really helps to make the embossing stand out. And those chicks are adorable 🙂

Thanks! The yellow on yellow was only arrived at after a lot of other combinations. I do wonder if maybe I just really wanted a boiled egg…

I am going to try to remember to use that same colour + embossing this week. (Poached are better…!)

Very cute! And very yellow, the perfect spring colour. I’m ignoring easter, thanks to Mother’s day and various family birthdays between now and then. Maybe it’s time to get cracking! (Worst Easter related pun ever 😂🐣!)

Oh, no, good Easter pun!! I have loads of cards to do before then too. In fact I need to put one in the post tomorrow and have not actually made it yet…nothing like a deadline to sharpen the mind!

Oh this is adorable! Those little chicks are sooooo cute! I can’t wait to see the next card! I do need to get busy making Easter cards! I have been a little pre-occupied with a class I’m taking I haven’t even been posting to the 30 Day Coloring Challenge! Too many things going on at once! LOL!

You have a lot going on. But you managed all your Christmas cards, right? No doubt Easter, and colouring challenges, will all happen too. You just might not sleep much…

It’s funny, I have had that embossing folder for years and only used it once, I think. But now it us my new favourite. Craft is fickle…!

Those slightly mangled chicks bring back memories. We had some one Easter, arranged on the coffee table, back when my mom still had the two cats, Simone and Gulliver. After being out one day, we returned home to find one of the chicks missing. We did find a few body parts — the feet, an eye, a bit of fluff — scattered on the floor. The rest of the corpse was never to be seen again. We think the cats ate it.

I would concur, Watson! I think they are too irresistible for cats. Good story!
