Well, it was just sitting there, winking at me…
Another card made with my Altenew Halftone stencil. This time I have opted for a softer look, so just used two shades of grey ink (Evening Gray and Morning Frost) in a fuzzy edged (technical term!) vague circle. I then stamped my flowers and leaves in a darker grey (Moon Rock), fussy cut them and spent a small eternity faffing about with their placement. Ho hum. Some of the elements were popped up on 3D foam. Oh and UK shoppers, I found a great bargain pack of large foam squares and a big roll of foam in Poundland last week. Please forgive my ignorance but I honestly did not know that everything in that shop costs £1.00!! I kept looking for prices….But anyway, it seems like a good deal to me so thought I would mention it.
Once I had the card assembled I decided I wanted to add the tiny text greeting. I wasn’t brave enough to stamp directly onto the more-or-less finished project so chickened out. Stupid, really, because if it had gone wrong I could still have covered it over and ended up with the same card as I have here. Duh!
A few little blobs of Nuvo Jewel drops and we are good to go. I like the sentiment because it can cover a lot of occasions, either happy or not so much.
Supplies: Altenew Halftone Stencil, Adore You stamps and Warm Gray mini ink cubes set; Tonic Nuvo Jewel Drops in Pale Periwinkle; Hunkydory Adorable Scorable card (the pinkish lilac)
Pretty card 🙂
First time I went in the Poundshop she was asking “Is this a pound then? What about this? Well I can get this for 70p from Wilkos…”
I saw the foam-thought that was a total bargain!

Thank you! I am useless at knowing the price of stuff, unless it is craft items. I do admire people who can keep better track and shop wisely!

What a lovely card! All of the store bought greeting cards look so boring and unimpressive compared to your cards! 🙂

I really love this card, Gillian – the gray makes it so beautiful. Poundland?? We have The Dollar Store here…

thank you. And yes, probably the same kind of shop. They sell all sorts of stuff, I just never got the concept that it all cost a pound!!

Beautiful work, Gillian. I really like the added flowers and subtle greys you’ve chosen; they make, as you wrote, for a very versatile greeting!

What a beautiful card! The lilac and gray together are perfect. At first I thought the flowers might be dogwood, but maybe they are apple blossoms. Gorgeous, either way. Foam dots are one of my top favorite supplies!

Yes, I know what you mean about the flowers. They are quite a versatile set, I think. Thank you for the kind words!

The stencilled background looks fab on this lovely, very elegant card! The flowers are very pretty too as is the colour scheme! Super duper card Gill 🙂

It looks lovely, grey and lilac are very subtle and keep it suitable for all occasions too. Great stencilling! I love Poundland, just to add confusion they sometimes have ‘specials’ that aren’t £1, like big bottles of Bold. It sometimes has hidden gems (literally, my adhesive pearls all come from there!)

I like poundstrecher where some items are less than £1 they also tend to have a huge amount of craft items like pearlescent 3d paint and paper pads. Love the simplistic beauty of your card. I seem to be in the habit of over cluttering my cards.

I love all the cards you make …. but I really do seem to have a soft spot for the greys on grey tones cards which you make. This one is perfection. And yes … right for any occasion.

Thanks. Yes, I love grey too. I blame it on my first ever eyeshadow set…

I never did grey. My eyes wouldn’t accept it. Grey made me look like I’d been punched in the face.
Which, when I come to think of it, was probably an improvement. 😀

i admire anyone who creates with stamping…just got some stamps and embossing powder and none of it is working well for me… I just may give up.

when I stamp, it is not even close to perfect…i am not sure if i am using too much or too little ink….I also tried embossing powder…disaster!

I had exactly the same problems when I first started years ago. I was trying to use embossing powder with dye ink, but had no idea they would not work together! Also, I had fingerprints all over the card I was trying to use embossing powder on. If in doubt, Google the specific problem. The answer is out there!

I think it maybe the stamps I am using?? I am using a stamp one with small writing. I am not sure it the quality of the stamp makes a difference or if it is the size of the stamped image…trying to get the embossing power to look good has not worked. I used both ink and a white embossing liquid….Did Google and Youtube and everyone seems to stamp so easily, without effort it seems 🙂
